Festival Questions & Sample Schedule

The Wind Ensemble (April 1, 2009) & String Ensemble (April 2, 2009) will be Performing at Tesoro HS.

What is Festival?

Festival is a competition-type concert. The groups will perform 3 traditional band or orchestra songs for 3 judges. These judges give a rating and make comments on what the group is doing well and what the group needs to improve on. Then the group goes into a Sight-Reading Room and performs one song that they have never seen before. It is a very educational experience!

What do the students need to do to prepare for this concert?

This is a very serious concert and students need to make sure that they practice and know their music in-depth. Those students unable to play their parts will not be going with us.

What do the students need to wear?

They need to wear the Tux Shirt/Black Socks Concert Outfit. Click here for Concert Dress.

What about chaperones?

We need about 5-7 parents willing to drive large vehicles to store equipment. We will give more details closer to the event.

9:30 am - Wind Ensemble students arrive at Newhart

11:00 - Performance on Stage!

1:30 - Return to Newhart - Go to Class.

String Ensemble

8:45 am - String Ensemble Students arrive at Newhart

10:30 - Performance on Stage!

1:15 - Return to Newhart - Go to Class.
