All Band & Orchestra students will take their picture for their group on October 23, 2008 during their music class.
- All students need to come to school completely dressed in their complete & correct concert outfits!!!!
- No Tux Shirts stuffed in bags or hung up. Please wear them with a sweatshirt on top if needed! We know this keeps them from becoming wrinkled or lost!
- Dress shoes need to be worn, except when walking to and from school or in PE.
- Students must be ready at the start of class with their shirts tucked in and buttons buttoned!
- Students may change following their picture if time allows. ALL STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CARRYING THEIR OWN CLOTHES WITH THEM FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. We have approx. 350 students wearing tux outfits, they won't stick out and most importantly, we don't have storage. Sorry!
- If you'd like to order pictures, order forms should be brought only on the picture day!! Make checks payable to: Campus Image.
- Students only need to bring instruments if they are ordering pictures.
- Make sure to the instruments are clean! Clean them according to instructions so they look nice.
- Undershirts (optional) must be white only. No logos or colors.
- Bow ties will be passed out right before they take their picture. (6 = Blue, Adv. = Black, Ens. = Red)
Dress Standards for All Concerts & Picture Day
(Except for the Senior Center)
Boys:
1. White long sleeved tuxedo shirt (traditional - no ruffles)
2. Solid black dress slacks (NO SHORTS, no navy, no jean material, not faded)
3. Black dress shoes (black soles & black laces) Absolutely NO sports shoes!
4. Black socks (NO WHITE SOCKS or patterns, logos, etc.)
5. Bow tie (school owned) - passed out at concerts
Girls:
1. White long sleeved tuxedo shirt (traditional - no ruffles)
2. Solid black dress slacks (NO SHORTS, no navy, no jean material, no patterns) or solid black long skirts, loose and ankle length or longer (short skirts are not appropriate.)
3. Black dress shoes (No open toe) Absolutely NO sports shoes!
4. Black socks or black tights/nylons (NO WHITE SOCKS - Make sure that we can't see bare ankles or legs!)
5. Bow tie (school owned) - passed out at concerts
Ensemble = Red bow tie
Advanced = Black bow tie
Intermediate = Blue bow tie

What is Band & Orchestra Picture Day?
Campus Image Photography comes to our school & takes group and individual pictures of each musical group. For e.g.: String Ensemble would take one group picture, Wind Ens. another, etc.
Who is involved?
No one is required to purchase pictures. However everyone is required to take part in the group picture!!! The group picture is placed in the yearbook and is also sent to Disneyland for those groups auditioning. Those students wishing to order pictures may do so immediately after we take the group picture.
When?
All pictures will be taken during their music class period and there are no make-up days, sorry.
What if we don't want to buy a picture?
You must take part in the group picture for the yearbook but no purchase is necessary.
If I want to order pictures, how does it work?
We will pass out order forms to purchase pictures. Most packages include individual and group pictures. Group pictures do not have instruments in them but individual ones do. You may take a buddy pictures with siblings and/or friends.
What should the students wear?
All students must wear the correct concert dress. Those not wearing the correct outfit will not be allowed to take part in the picture and may be asked not to participate in future field trips. Please visit the concert dress page if you need a reminder.
What are buddy pictures?
They can take a picture with their good friends, siblings, etc., with or without their instruments. If interested, fill out the order form.
Do I have to bring my instrument on picture day?
Those who are ordering pictures packages will need their instruments, otherwise they will not need them for the group picture and we won't have time to play that day.
How long does it take to get the pictures ordered?
The pictures will be delivered to Newhart in about 4-6 weeks at which time we will sort them and pass them out.
