Each student will be provided most band/orchestra music and a folder that is designated only for music.
All students will be shown how to use these supplies to keep their instrument in good working condition. The list below comes from suggestions by professionals and repair technicians as to the best way to maintain an instrument in proper playing condition. If an instrument is neglected, then it will likely end up in the repair shop for unnecessary & costly repairs. There are kits available with all the supplies put together and usually at a discount. If used correctly it will keep the instrument out of the repair shop for unnecessary repairs, saving money! Most repairs are due to neglect rather than breakage.
The local stores sometimes run out of these supplies. You can call ahead or you can also try the band & orchestra catalogue company Woodwind & Brasswind 800-348-5003. For string players only, you can also go to SharMusic or SouthwestStrings. They have all the supplies listed below and sell things at very low prices.
