1.                The cycling of elements is essential to healthy functioning ecosystems.  Describe a bio-geochemical cycle (nitrogen, carbon or phosphorous) .  How have humans disrupted  these cycles; site specific examples?

 

2.                What factors interact to produce the different biomes around the globe?  Provide an example of a biome describe: climate, dominant vegetation, animal’s its geographic distribution and limiting factors.  Be able to graph, interpret, identify representative Biomes

 

3.                Population growth is a balance between biotic potential and environmental resistance.  Describe these terms and use an example which illustrates population’s changes.

 

4.                Natural ecosystems may undergo gradual succession patterns(primary). What role does a disturbance play in altering normal succession patterns(secondary).
