Food Web Activity-Here is a list of the biota found in a California Chaparral biome.

 

Jay (insects, seeds)

Coyote (small mammals, deer)

Hawk (rodents, reptiles)

Lizard (insects)

Rattlesnake (rodents)

Cottontail rabbit (grasses and plants)

Oak

Wild grasses

Mushrooms (dead plants)

Directions:  Using the 20 organisms make a food-web placing the organisms in an oval on a sheet of paper.  Using arrows make connections to each of the organisms based on their relationships e.g. produceràconsumer.  In each oval indicate P=producer, C=consumer or D=decomposer.
